I am an award-winning professor, research consultant, and social justice advocate committed to exposing the hidden histories of Black resistance, colonialism, slavery, and systemic oppression. My work helps communities, educators, and organizations understand how historical policies shape today’s injustices—and how knowledge can be a tool for liberation.
Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, I experienced firsthand the impact of segregation, redlining, and systemic disinvestment. But it wasn’t until college that I gained the language and historical context to understand why these inequalities existed. That discovery changed everything, driving my lifelong mission to teach the history we were never meant to know.
As a professor at Columbus College of Art & Design, I teach students to critically engage with history, power, and justice. My educational work extends beyond the classroom. I lead workshops, trainings, and lectures for schools, nonprofits, and organizations seeking to deepen their understanding of racial and environmental justice. Whether working with educators, community leaders, or businesses, my goal is to equip people with the historical knowledge and tools to challenge systemic inequities.
My current academic research focuses on racial gaslighting—the deliberate distortion of history that sustains power and oppression. In my consulting practice, specialize in qualitative and community-based research, using oral history, interviews, and participatory action methods to uncover and preserve marginalized narratives.
